FLEX series ENERGY-SAVING REFRIGERANT DRYERS
of PNEUMATIC Products Raupach GmbH
Air flow rate 127 m³/h to 3400 m³/h
The Hankison FLEX series refrigeration dryers are a sustainable energy saving solution that utilizes the latest advances in heat transfer technology. These refrigeration dryers are designed to effectively remove liquid contaminants from compressed air and provide cost-effective energy savings by adjusting power consumption in direct proportion to air demand.
- Energy saving Sustainability
The FLEX series reduces the electricity costs of the compressed air system and improves productivity by adapting the power consumption to the compressed air demand. In a typical production facility, up to 30% of electricity is used for the generation and treatment of compressed air. To reduce total cost of ownership and benefit from utility incentive programs, proper selection and application of air treatment equipment is required.
- Load matching performance
The compressed air load profiles in most production facilities fluctuate. The FLEX series enables cost-effective energy savings by adapting the electrical power consumed directly to the air demand. A linear load adjustment from 0 % to 100 % of demand is achieved. Non-recirculating dryers operate with a continuously running refrigeration compressor, regardless of the input load. Minimal energy savings are achieved from 100 % down to 0 % supply air load.
FUNCTIONAL MODE
The FLEX series uses a phase change heat transfer medium (PCM) between the refrigeration and compressed air circuits, which serves as a reservoir for heat storage. The heat accumulator consists of a patent-pending 3-in-1 heat exchanger filled with a phase change material that efficiently transfers heat energy through a "change of state" (phase change: change from liquid to solid and back to liquid in a continuous cycle). The cooling circuit cools the PCM until it turns into a solid. When the compressed air enters the PCM-air section of the heat exchanger, the PCM medium absorbs the heat from the air flow and begins to melt the PCM medium at a constant temperature. When most of the PCM medium has become liquid, the cooling system switches on to cool the PCM medium again and convert it into a solid. This cycle is repeated as required to achieve the appropriate compressed air load for the FLEX dryer.
